I'm back! I know, it's been too long from my last post. Please... Never be sick if my reason was because of teaching business. Next week is for final test and you can figure out how busy the recent days for both teacher and student are :D. Fortunately, I could still manage to "steal" time in the rush morning to make simple bento; yeah, super charaben is quite impossible for me to do except I wake up at three in the morning LOL. So, at this kind of setting, I really want to bring out the maximum utilization of my bento tools. The tools would come up very handy and time saving certainly.
I'm really happy with my new bento gadgets I got from Mummy Raifan. The tools are really helpful in creating cute yet simple bento for a rush morning. The tools are actually intended as a rice mold, but you surely can use them for another purpose like bread cutting. The rice molds come up in three different shapes: Panda, Flower, and Heart. I made the yellow heart shaped molded rice from Nasi Kuning (Indonesian Fragrant Yellow Rice) with beef floss in the center. While for the pinky flower, the pink was from sakura denbu and Serundeng (Indonesian savory toasted grated coconut) in the center. The rice mold can create a hole in the center of the molded rice as a space for the side dishes. They are also accompanied by a cute little green spoon (or scraper?) for molding the rice. Below I show some pictorials on how to make cute molded rice with the tools.
1. Put some rice into the rice mold. Make sure that you have put the right amount to get a firm molded rice.
2. Put the rice mold lid on top of the rice.
3. Well press the rice to get a firm molded rice.
4, 5, & 6. Take of the removable base, mold, and lid of the rice mold carefully.
It's deadly easy, rite? ^^
Well, as a very sweet part to end this post, I'm extremely happy to get these three awards (again :D) from one of my most supportive friends, Lyn Trinix :D. Bundles of thanks to you Lyn! hug hug hug :D. Lyn is a blogger based in Singapore and she's currently crazy in love too with bento making, please visit her lovely blog. To have Lyn as our friend is a very nice thing since she's nicer than a pie hehe ^^.
Wish you all a great day! ^^
