Bunny Loves Watermelon Bento 1
Hi, folks! I know, it takes me a quite long time to post again. My laptop was “sick” – even almost “die” – few days ago that made me cry all the night since I was terribly afraid that I would lose all the data inside. I was so frustrated that night for I couldn’t use it to type quizzes and assignments for my students for the following day. So, as you can guess… I also could do nothing with it to edit some photos and write something to post; I even missed previous Masak Bareng Yukk!! foodie event (T_T). But thanks God, though still has some troubles and errors when I use, it still can be functioned hehehehe LOL. And also thanks for my Mom and brother who have “rescued” me to get the new one ;D – Yeayy!!!!

For today’s post, I come across with “Bunny Loves Watermelon Bento”. Though I don’t celebrate the Easter Day, it was a lot fun when I saw almost all of my bentoist friends came up with their adorable bunny bentos. So I have to pop up with my own bunny too, right? Hahaha ;P.

When you see the picts, may be you wonder with my “purple” rice. It wasn’t made from red rice or white rice added with purple food coloring. It’s a combination of white rice with black sticky rice. Since small amount of black sticky rice is good enough in giving the purple color, I used 9 : 1 comparison for the white rice and black sticky rice. If you use rice cooker, you’ll get purple colored rice just like mine. But if you use ordinary steamer, may be you’ll get more beautiful combination of separated white rice and purple black sticky rice since both kinds of rice are steamed over the hot water - not cooked in infused-with-purple-color water just like when you cook using rice cooker. Very interesting to try, eh? :D

Inside the box I have purple rice, a bunny enjoying a slice of watermelon made from egg sheet and crab stick, boiled broccoli and green bean, tomato wedges, rolled egg sheet with boiled green bean and carrot, fried boneless chicken with sesame seeds, and crab stick flower. I’ve never been success to make slippery and rubbery egg sheet so far. Any suggestions, please? Corn starch addition is still not working to me :(

O yeah, I got another award from Anncoo. How sweet you are to give me this award, I love it and thanks a lot Ann :D. Since it always makes me confused when it comes for me to decide my award receivers, so let me made up my mind to spread this award for all my dear foodie blogger buddies again :D. Have fun! Just pick it up, darls!

  13. Wooow cutie!
As well as cute, yummy bento! The fried chicken looks so yummy. And your water melon is perfect!
Although I think your eggsheets are really well-done. If you need to make eggsheet rubberier, maybe need a little more starch and water. When I cook it, I try to use a low heat preferably. ^.<
